RHODE ISLAND COLLEGE MENíS & WOMENíS
CROSS COUNTRY OPENS SEASON
AT UMASS DARTMOUTH INVITATIONAL

 

 

North Dartmouth, MA Ė The Rhode Island College menís and womenís cross country teams opened the 2007 season at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 15.

 

The Anchormen placed 25th (31 teams) in the varsity race. Junior Greg Ahnrud (Chepachet, RI) placed 89th with a time of 27:40. Freshman Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI) placed 136th with a time of 28:56, followed closely by freshman Cesar Smith (Bristol, RI) who placed 137th with a time of 28:57. Freshman Chanthoeun Yin (Attleboro, MA) placed 159th with a time of 30:08, while senior Greg Clark (Pawtucket, RI) placed 210th with a time of 33:55.

 

The womenís team placed ninth (16 teams) in the sub-varsity race. Freshman Katie Desrosiers (Warwick, RI) was RIC's top finisher, placing 57th with a time of 21:54. Freshman Kathryn Cote (Greenville, RI) placed 64th with a time of 22:01; freshman Heather Feeney (Warwick, RI) placed 73rd with a time of 22:10; freshman Rachael Johnson (Wakefield, RI) placed 88th with a time of 22:40; freshman Rachael Procter (East Providence, RI) placed 95th with a time of 23:11; freshman Ashley Delamare (Smithfield, RI) placed 101st with a time of 23:24; sophomore Kendra DeGiulio (Warwick, RI) placed 115th with a time of 24:08; freshman Heather Tullos (Attleboro, MA) placed 124th with a time of 24:28; freshman Hope Clark (Attleboro, MA) placed 126th with a time of 24:35 and freshman Nicole Poirier (Concord, NH) placed 146th with a time of 25:51.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host its annual Ray Dwyer Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 22 at Goddard State Park.
