STEINA FLEMMING NAMED LITTLE EAST
WOMEN’S INDOOR TRACK ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

 

 

 

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College sophomore Steina Flemming (Tortola, BVI) was named the Little East Conference Women’s Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Year.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Flemming placed 11th overall in the 55 meters with a time of 7.30 at the NCAA Div. III Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships. She earned All-ECAC honors in the 55 meters, placing eighth with a time of 7.28 at the ECAC Championships. Flemming placed fifth in the finals of the 55 meters with a time of 7.17, breaking the RIC record, at the N.E. Open Championships. She earned All-Alliance/Little East honors in three events at the Alliance Championships. Flemming was the Alliance/Little East Champion in the 55 meters, placing first with a time of 7.34, while also placing second in the 200 meters with a time of 27.28 and third as part of the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:52.21. She placed 13th in the finals of the 55 meters with a time of 7.32 at the Valentine Invitational. Flemming placed second in the 55 meters with a time of 7.31 at the URI Mega Meet. She placed second in the finals of the 55 meters with a time of 7.32 at the Wesleyan Invitational. Flemming placed 12th in the 60 meters with a time of 8.09 at the Yale Invitational. She placed third in the 60 meters with a time 7.90 at the Harvard Invitational.
