MENíS OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD PLACES
FOURTH AT SILFEN INVITATIONAL

 

 

 

New London, CTóThe Rhode Island College menís outdoor track and field team placed fourth (13 teams) with a score of 73.0 at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon.

 

 

 

Senior Mike Van Gieson (Foster, RI) placed first in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.81.

Junior Dante Lopardo (Johnston, RI) placed first in the high jump with a 1.96-meter effort. He also placed third in the triple jump (13.12m) and seventh in the long jump (6.24m).

Freshman Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI) placed first in the 10,000 meters with a time of 34:17.97. He also placed fifth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:09.65.

Senior James Polak (Smithfield, RI) placed second in the discus with a 38.83-meter effort.

 

Junior Hunter Stewart (Foster, RI) placed fifth in the 400 meters with a time of 51.02.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host the Little East Conference/MASCAC Alliance Championships on Saturday, Apr. 26.
