WOMEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD PLACES
FOURTH AT SILFEN INVITATIONAL

 

 

 

New London, CT—The Rhode Island College women’s outdoor track and field team placed third (12 teams) with a score of 106.0 at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon.

 

 

 

Sophomore Stephanie Bucci (Smithfield, RI) placed first in the hammer (42.43m), fourth in the shot (10.22m) and sixth in the discus (31.02m).

Junior Kayla Fleming (Pawtucket, RI) placed first in the high jump (1.55m), second in the 800 meters (2:26.79) and sixth in the long jump (4.66m).

Sophomore Brooke Iby (Dracut, MA) placed first in the triple jump with a 10.70-meter effort. She also placed third in the 400 meters with a time of 1:03.49.

Freshman Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) placed first in the 400 meter hurdles (1:08.35) and third in the 100 meters hurdles (17.00).

Junior Mary Ellen Horsman (Barrington, RI) placed second in the hammer with a 41.62-meter effort.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host the Little East Conference/MASCAC Alliance Championships on Saturday, Apr. 26.
