FOUR FROM RIC EARN
ALL-NEW ENGLAND HONORS

 

New London, Conn.—The Rhode Island College women’s outdoor track and field team placed 18th (28 teams) with a score of 10.0 at the New England Div. III Championships, hosted by Coast Guard May 1-3.

 

Junior Kayla Fleming (Pawtucket, RI) earned All-New England honors in the high jump, placing third with a 1.55-meter effort. She also placed 10th as part of the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:19.38.

Sophomore Brooke Iby (Dracut, MA) earned All-New England honors in the triple jump, placing eighth with a 10.47-meter effort. She also placed 10th as part of the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:19.38 and 15th as part of the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 53.31.

Junior Mary Ellen Horsman (Barrington, RI) earned All-New England honors in the weight throw, placing seventh at 40.64 meters.

Sophomore Stephanie Bucci (Smithfield, RI) earned All-New England honors in the weight throw, placing eighth at 40.39 meters. She narrowly missed All-N.E. honors in the discus, placing ninth at 33.55 meters.

Freshman Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) placed 18th in the 400m hurdles (1:09.78), 15th in the 4x100m relay (53.31) and 10th in the 4x400m relay (4:19.38).

 

Freshman Jamie Nunes (Lincoln, RI) placed 15th in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.89.

 

Sophomore Liz Glunt (Altoona, PA) placed 15th in the 4x100m relay (53.31) and 10th in the 4x400m relay (4:19.38).

 

Freshman Denise McCann (West Greenwich, RI) placed 15th in the 4x100m relay (53.31).
