Mullen’s 15 Points Leads RIC

Beverly, Mass.—Tufts University built an 18-point halftime lead and never looked back, downing Rhode Island College, 78-44, in the opening round of the Endicott Tip-Off Invitational Tournament. The Anchorwomen will face Wilkes in the consolation game tomorrow afternoon.

The Jumbos placed four players in double figures as Khalilah Ummah (Litchfield, ME) paced the Tufts’ offense with 15 points and seven rebounds. Julia Baily (Farmington, CT) shot 6-of-11 from the field for 14 points. Junior center Katie Tausanovitch (Lyme, NH) grabbed 12 rebounds and had eight points in the winning effort.

Rhode Island College was led by sophomore guard Alice Mullen’s (Saunderstown, RI) 15 points on 6-of-15 shooting. RIC had no answers for the Jumbos down low, as the Anchorwomen were out-rebounded, 54-20, and out-scored, 30-8, in points in the paint.
