Rhode Island College Wrestling Ranked
28th Nationally; Second in New England

 

Providence, RIóThe Rhode Island College wrestling team is currently ranked 28th nationally and second in New England. In addition, senior Mike Bonora (Nutley, NJ) is ranked No. 1 in the country in the 141 lbs. weight class.

 

Bonora, who is also the top-ranked grappler in New England for his weight class, is 5-0 with 21 takedowns, two reversals, five near-falls and one pin on the season.

 

Freshman Kevin Sutherland (Dauphin, PA) is also ranked No. 1 in New England and ninth nationally at 149 lbs. Sutherland is 6-0 with six takedowns, two reversals, four near-falls and one pin.

 

Senior Kevin Davis (Amston, CT) is ranked No. 1 in New England at 197 lbs. He is 5-0 with seven takedowns, two reversals, five near-falls and one pin.

 

Freshman Travis Drappi (West Orange, NJ) is ranked No. 3 in New England at 133 lbs. with a 5-1 record to go along with eight takedowns, one reversal, four near-falls and two pins.

 

Sophomore Mike Martini (Cranston, RI) is ranked No. 4 in New England at 157 lbs. He is 5-2 with six takedowns, four reversals and a team-high three pins.

 

Senior Brendan Casey (Lowell, MA) is ranked No. 4 in New England at 174 lbs. He is 5-2 with 15 takedowns.

 

Junior Nick Logan (Lowell, MA) is ranked No. 5 in New England at 184 lbs. He is 4-3 with 16 takedowns, one reversal, four near-falls and one pin.

 

Head Coach Jay Jones team is 1-0 overall, 1-0 in the New England College Conference Wrestling Association (NECCWA) and 1-0 in the Pilgrim Wrestling League. The Anchormen tied for first place at the Roger Williams Invitational on Nov. 10.
