St. Jacques 12 Kills Leads Anchorwomen Past Vikings

 

 

 

Salem, MA—Sophomore and Erin St. Jacques (Warwick, RI) led Rhode Island College with 12 kills as the Anchorwomen downed Salem State, 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-23), in collegiate women’s volleyball action on Thursday evening.

RIC raises its current mark to 5-12 with the shutout victory, while SSC falls to 3-6. The win is only the second, 3-0, win for the Anchorwomen who have now won back-to-matches for the first time this season

 

 

In addition to St. Jacques’ performance, senior right side hitter Tina Hilton (Woonsocket, RI) logged nine kills, while junior middle blocker and classmate outside hitter Sharon Corriveau (Coventry, RI) each posted six winners. Senior libero Jackie Gervais (Woonsocket, RI) made a team-high 25 digs, while freshman setter Tiana Pittman (Warwick, RI) handed out 36 assists.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will face Clark and Eastern Nazarene at a tri-match, hosted by ENC, on Saturday, Oct. 4.
