ANCHORWOMEN SPLIT AT
EASTERN NAZARENE TRI-MEET

 

 

 

Quincy, MA—The Rhode Island College women’s volleyball team split a tri-meet, hosted by Eastern Nazarene on Saturday afternoon. The Anchorwomen earned a win over the hosts (3-0) and fell to Clark (3-1) as their record now stands at 6-13.

 

 

 

RIC picked up a straight set win (25-14, 25-21, 25-20) over the Crusaders as sophomore middle blocker Erin St. Jacques (Warwick, RI) led the way with seven kills and four blocks. Freshman outside hitter Jamilah Pittman (Warwick, RI) posted six kills and 13 digs. Rookie setter Tiana Pittman (Warwick, RI) logged 17 assists.

Clark handed the Anchorwomen a loss in their second match (16-25, 18-25, 25-11, 22-25) as RIC tried to extend the match with a third set win and a close final stanza. Junior outside hitter Sharon Corriveau (Coventry, RI) led the team with nine winners, while sophomore outside hitter Tess Heidel (Warwick, RI) posted seven kills. Senior libero Jackie Gervais (Woonsocket, RI) contributed 23 digs, while Tiana Pittman was credited with 24 assists.

 

In upcoming action, RIC will resume Little East action at UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
