LASERS DOWN ANCHORWOMEN IN FIVE

 

Newton, MAŚLasell earned its sixth win (6-13) of the season with a 3-2 victory over visiting Rhode Island College on Tuesday night. After falling behind, 2-1, the Anchorwomen took set four to force a deciding frame.

 

 

 

The Lasers won the match, 15-25, 25-16, 25-18, 17-25, 15-12. RIC sees its record fall to 6-16 on the season.

 

 

 

Sophomore outside hitter Tess Heidel (Warwick, RI) led RIC with 17 kills. Junior outside hitter Sharon Corriveau (Coventry, RI) posted nine kills and 32 digs. Senior libero Jackie Gervais (Woonsocket, RI) logged 43 digs.

In upcoming action, RIC will compete in the annual R.I. Div. III Championships against Salve Regina and Johnson & Wales at Roger Williams on Saturday, Oct. 18.
