PICINISCO TIES FOR SECOND AS RIC FINISHES SECOND AT GNAC CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

Cranston, RIóRhode Island College sophomore Bryan Picinisco (North Dartmouth, MA) tied for second place overall with a two-day score of 156 (78, 78) as the Anchormen placed second at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference/Little East Conference Alliance Championships, hosted by Johnson & Wales at Cranston Country Club.

The Anchormen posted a score of 320 on Oct. 24 and a mark of 328 on Oct. 25 to finish with a total of 648. RIC finished 26 strokes behind the first place Wildcats, who earn a bid to the NCAA Div. III Menís Golf Championships in the spring with the victory.

 

 

Sophomore Derek Jensen (Cumberland, RI) tied for sixth overall with scores of 77 and 80 for a 157. Classmate Chad Lareau (North Attleboro, MA) placed 14th with an 82 and 85 for a two-day score of 167.

Junior Barrett Kern (Pawtucket, RI) logged scores of 88 and 85 for a mark of 173, which tied for 21st overall. Freshman Mark Savastano (Swansea, MA) rounded out the RIC contingent with scores of 83 and 92 for a total of 175, which was tied for 23rd.
