ANCHORWOMEN DOWNED BY CAMELS

 

New London, CTó The Connecticut College volleyball team (18-10) cruised to a 3-0 victory against Rhode Island College (8-20) at Luce Fieldhouse on Wednesday night. The set scores were 25-16, 25-16 and 25-21 in favor of the hosts.

 

 

 

Connecticut College junior setter Kat Torrey (Cheshire, CT) distributed 11 assists as CC earned its eighth victory in the past nine outings. Jessie Lasher (Plymouth, MN) chipped in with four digs, three kills and an ace. Sophomore Chelsea Manning (Cockeysville, MD) buried three kills to go with two aces.

 

 

 

Rhode Island College freshman setter Tiana Pittman (Warwick, RI) had 18 assists in the match. Senior libero Jackie Gervais (Woonsocket, RI) tallied 10 digs for the Anchorwomen, while junior outside hitter Sharon Corriveau (Coventry, RI) totaled six kills.

 

 

 

In upcoming action, RIC will host Western Connecticut and UMass Boston in a Little East Conference tri-match on Saturday, Nov. 1 at The Murray Center.
