2008 Rhode Island College

Womenís Cross Country Season Summary

Providence, R.I.óHead Coach Kevin Jacksonís team wrapped up the 2008 season, placing 35th (49 teams) with a score of 1,011 at the New England Div. III Championships, hosted by Williams on Nov. 15.

 

The Anchorwomen placed 27th (42 teams) with a score of 698 at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) N.E. Div. IIII Championships, held at Colt State Park on Nov. 8.

 

 

 

RIC placed sixth (12 teams) with a score of 157 at the Little East Conference/MASCAC Alliance Championships, hosted by Westfield State College at Stanley Park on Nov. 1. The Anchorwomen placed fourth (six) teams in the Little East with a score of 92.

 

Senior captain Hannah Clark (Attleboro, MA) placed 89th with a season-best time of 24:12.95 at the Alliance Championships on Nov. 1. She placed 70th with a time of 24:44.75 at the Roger Williams Invitational on Oct. 11. Clark placed 68th with a time of 25:23.19 at the Tri-State Invitational on Oct. 4. She placed 13th with a time of 26:21.61 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 29. Clark placed 146th with a time of 24:36 in the sub-varsity race of the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20.

 

As a junior in 2007, she placed 118th with a time of 26:40 at the Alliance Championships on Oct. 27. She placed 24th with a time of 26:58 (shortened course) at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 13. Clark placed 82nd with a time of 26:42 at the Roger Williams Invitational on Oct. 6. She placed 50th with a season-best time of 25:28 at the Tri State Invitational on Sept. 29. Clark placed 35th with a time of 26:02 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 22.

 

As a sophomore in 2006, Clark placed 252nd at the N.E. Div. III Championships with a time of 29:03 on Nov. 11. She placed 201st with a time of 29:22 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 4. Clark placed 65th with a time of 25:11 at the Alliance Championships on Oct. 28. She placed fourth with a time of 22:39 (shortened course) vs. Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 14. Clark placed 59th with a time of 23:57 at the Roger Williams Invitational on Oct. 1. She placed 55th with a time of 23:57 at the Tri State Invitational on Sept. 30. Clark placed 60th with a season-best time of 23:25 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 23. She placed 181st with a time of 24:47 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 16.

 

As a freshman in 2005, she was RICís top runner at every meet and was named the teamís MVP. She was the Anchorwomenís lone runner, placing 221st with a time of 28:03 at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 12. She again was the lone RIC runner and was 186th with a time of 29:14 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 6. She placed 41st with a time of 22:38.03 at the Alliance Championships on Oct. 29. Clark placed third with a time of 22:06 at a tri-meet with Mitchell at Eastern Connecticut on Oct. 15. She placed 59th with a time of 24:28 at the Roger Williams Invitational on Oct. 8. She was 36th with a time of 23:11 at the Tri-State Invitational on Oct. 1. She placed 44th with a time of 23:18 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational Sept. 24. Clark placed 217th at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 17. She was 18th with a time of 15:57 (shortened course) at the Ocean State Invitational on Sept. 8.

 

She is an elementary education major with a concentration in special education and a 2005 graduate of Attleboro High School.

 

Junior Ashley Guimond (Sterling, CT) placed 205th with a time of 27:48.6 at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 15. She was RICís top runner, placing 123rd with a time of 26:59 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 8. Guimond placed 37th with a season-best time of 21:32.26 at the Alliance Championships on Nov. 1. She placed 25th with a time of 22:32.50 at the Tri-State Invitational on Oct. 4. Guimond placed 229th with a time of 22:28 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20.

 

Sophomore Lindsey Brisson (Coventry, RI) was named the teamís MVP. Brisson placed 198th with a time of 27:36.8 at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 15. She placed 186th with a time of 28:05 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 8. Brisson placed 42nd with a season-best time of 21:47.56 at the Alliance Championships on Nov. 1. She placed 46th with a time of 23:08.07 at the Roger Williams Invitational on Oct. 11. Brisson placed eighth with a time of 23:27.44 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 29. She placed 219th with a time of 22:11 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20.

 

Sophomore Katie Desrosiers (Warwick, RI) placed 249th with a time of 29:12.2 at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 15. She placed 145th with a time of 27:26 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 8. Desrosiers placed 30th with a season-best time of 21:17.84 at the Alliance Championships on Nov. 1. She placed 24th with a time of 22:32.00 at the Tri-State Invitational on Oct. 4. Desrosiers placed fifth with a time of 22:45.76 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 29. She placed 186th with a time of 21:39 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20.

 

Sophomore Heather Feeney (Warwick, RI) placed 220th with a time of 28:11.1 at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 15. She placed 154th with a time of 27:35 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 8. Feeney placed 41st with a time of 22:48.10 at the Roger Williams Invitational on Oct. 11. She placed 34th with a time of 23:21.48 at the Tri-State Invitational on Oct. 4. Feeney placed seventh with a time of 23:16.40 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 29. She placed 197th with a season-best time of 21:46 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20.

 

Sophomore Nicole Poirier (Concord, NH) placed 221st with a time of 28:11.9 at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 15. She placed 170th with a time of 27:52 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 8. Poirier placed 53rd with a season-best time of 22:16.49 at the Alliance Championships on Nov. 1. She placed 47th with a time of 23:15.63 at the Roger Williams Invitational on Oct. 11. Poirier placed 35th with a time of 23:24.23 at the Tri-State Invitational on Oct. 4. She placed ninth with a time of 22:53 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20.

 

Freshman Justyna Barlow (Foster, RI) placed 251st with a time of 29:18.4 at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 15. She placed 209th with a time of 28:45 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 8. Barlow placed 63rd with a season-best time of 22:41.61 at the Alliance Championships on Nov. 1. She placed 66th with a time of 24:39.11 at the Roger Williams Invitational on Oct. 11. Barlow placed 50th with a time of 24:31.56 at the Tri-State Invitational on Oct. 4. She placed 14th with a time of 26:40.24 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 29. Barlow placed 131st with a time of 24:03 in the sub-varsity race of the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20.

 

Freshman Brittany Richer (Woonsocket, RI) placed 17th with a time of 21:33.94 at the Roger Williams Invitational on Oct. 11. She placed 14th with a time of 21:46.13 at the Tri-State Invitational on Oct. 4. Richer placed third with a time of 21:38.10 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 29. She placed 145th with a season-best time of 21:01 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20.

 

Freshman Jacqueline Towle (Swanzey, NH) was RICís top runner, placing 176th with a time of 27:08.8 at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Nov. 15. She placed 146th with a time of 27:28 at the ECAC Championships on Nov. 8. Towle was RICís top runner and earned All-Alliance honors, placing 19th with a season-best time of 20:29.39 at the Alliance Championships on Nov. 1. She was RICís top runner, placing eighth with a time of 20:39.72 at the Roger Williams Invitational on Oct. 11. Towle was RICís top runner, placing fourth with a time of 20:42.66 at the Tri-State Invitational on Oct. 4. She was RICís top runner, placing second with a time of 21:15.83 at the Ray Dwyer Invitational on Sept. 29. Towle was RICís top runner, placing 119th with a time of 20:42 at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Sept. 20.
