SPOIL HOME OPENER FOR ANCHORWOMEN

Nets Three as Curry Wins, 20-6

RI—Curry
scored the game’s first nine goals en route to a 20-6 win over Rhode
Island College in collegiate women’s lacrosse action on Tuesday
afternoon at the RIC Lacrosse Field. |

|
Sophomore attack Ashley Hansbury
(Chelmsford, MA) scored a game-high six goals, while adding an
assist for a seven-point afternoon. Sophomore midfielder Emily
Summers (Kittery, ME), junior attack Carissa Lauyer
(Bloomsbury, NJ) and classmate midfielder Rachel Robichaud
(Billerica, MA) each netted four goals in the victory. |

Hansbury scored four times, while
Robichaud tallied three times, during the opening run. |
|
|
|
|
|
The Colonels (4-1) used three
goalkeepers in the win with junior Kerri Shaw (Arlington, MA)
picking up the victory with a six-save effort. Sophomore Maria
Lynch (Billerica, MA) made four stops, while freshman Kate
Noe (Greenwich, CT) played out the final 10 minutes without a
save. |

Curry led 14-1 at the half and
outshot RIC (0-1), 43-22, in the game. |

Sophomore attack Suany Almonte
(Warwick, RI) scored three times to lead the Anchorwomen, while
freshman attack Nichole Drolet (Somersworth, NH) contributed
two goals, which included her first collegiate marker. |
