In the opener, DeNoncour drove in Rhode Island College's (18-2) first four runs of the game. She blasted a two-run homer (1)  to right center field to give the Anchorwomen a 2-1 advantage in the second before lacing a two-run bases loaded single through the left side of the infield in the third.

Bridgewater State (15-5) cut Rhode Island College's deficit to 4-2 with an run in the bottom of the fifth, but the Anchorwomen ended any hopes of a comeback with a five-run surge in the sixth. Sophomore second baseman Amanda Perry (New Bedford, MA) and classmate catcher Laura Kostenblatt (Keene, NH) sparked the outburst with two-run doubles each.

Sophomore starting pitcher Melanie Neece (Westfield, MA) surrendered one run on three hits over four innings to pick up her fifth victory (5-1). Classmate Amanda Berard (Swansea, MA) tossed the remaining three frames, allowing one run on three hits and striking out four to collect her conference-leading sixth save.

In the nightcap, Rhode Island College featured a well-balanced attack as each of the starting nine recorded at least one hit, including seven starters with a multiple-hit game. Sophomore left fielder Kayla Jandreau (Plainville, CT) paced the assault with three hits, while Perry and DeNoncour each drove in three runs to share the team lead.

The visitors broke open a close affair in the third inning, plating four runs on five hits. Mattoon set the table with a lead-off double, while Perry and junior right fielder Michelle Perrin (Saugus, MA) followed with RBI singles. DeNoncour delivered a sacrifice fly to score Perrin and Jandreau crossed the plate on a senior center fielder Kelli McCartin (Cranston, RI) single.

The Anchorwomen tacked on eight insurance runs over the next two innings to evoke the 10-run rule. Sophomore pitcher Jenna Deveines (Lowville, NY) hurled four-shutout innings to raise her record to 8-0, while Berard pitched a 1-2-3 fifth to close out the 13-0 victory.

Rhode Island College returns to action on Saturday, April 4, when the Anchorwomen travel to Little East Conference rival Keene State for a doubleheader.
