PERRY NAMED LITTLE EAST
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Providence, RI-The Little East Conference named Rhode Island College sophomore second baseman Amanda Perry (New Bedford, MA) as its Softball Player of the Week.

 

 

 

Perry hit safely in each of her six games—including five with multiple hits—this past week to bat .619 (13-for-21) and lead No. 23 Rhode Island College to a 5-0-1 mark, raising the Anchorwomen’s unbeaten streak to 18 games. She scored nine runs, smacked six extra-base hits and drove in four runs.  Perry recorded a triple in each of her first three games of the week, while belting a three-run homer at Little East rival Keene State. In a twin bill against the Owls on April 10, she went 6-for-8 from the dish with three RBI and three runs scored.

 

For the season, she has played in 26 games, starting all of them. She is batting .442 (38-for-86) with 26 runs scored, nine doubles, six triples, three home runs, 21 RBI and five stolen bases.

 

RIC is currently 23-2-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the Little East Conference. In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play a doubleheader at UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday, Apr. 14.
