SIX ANCHORWOMEN PLACE FIRST
AT SWANSON INVITATIONAL

Middletown, CT-Six student-athletes took home first place finishes as the Rhode Island College women's outdoor track and field team competed at the Swanson Invitational, hosted by Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon. It was an individual meet with no team scoring.

 

 

Junior Stephanie Bucci

 

Junior Stephanie Bucci (Smithfield, RI) placed first in the discus (28.06m) and second in the hammer (37.44m).

 

Senior Kayla Fleming (Pawtucket, RI) placed first in the high jump (1.60m) and second in the 800m (2:32.88)

 

Freshman Kim Mangum (Warwick, RI) placed first in the long jump (4.97m) and sixth in the 100m (13.91).

 

 Junior Brooke Iby (Dracut, MA) placed first in the triple jump (10.41m), third in the 200m (28.63) and fourth in the 100m (13.55).

 

Sophomore Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) placed first in the 100m hurdles (16.81), while classmate Jamie Nunes Lincoln, RI) was second (16.86).

 

Senior Mary Ellen Horsman (Barrington, RI) placed first in the hammer (41.10m)

 

In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will compete at Connecticut College's Silfen Invitational on Saturday, April 18.
