LAREAU LEADS RIC TO SEVENTH PLACE FINISH AT UMASS DARTMOUTH INVITATIONAL

North Dartmouth, MA-Sophomore Chad Lareau (North Attleboro, MA) tied for 14th overall as the Rhode Island College men's golf team placed seventh (14 teams) at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, held on Friday and Saturday, April 10-11 at Allendale Country Club.

The Anchormen posted a two-day total of 504 (327-77). The second day of competition was shortened to nine holes due to inclement weather. Trinity won the meet with a score of 474 (305-169).

 

Lareau posted a score of 121 (79, 42) and finished 13 strokes off the lead.

 

Junior Barrett Kern (Pawtucket, RI) tied for 27th at 127 (84, 43). Sophomore Derek Jensen (Cumberland, RI) tied for 33rd at 129 (83, 46). Sophomore Bryan Picinisco (Dartmouth, MA) tied for 38th at 130 (81, 49), while freshman Mark Savastano (Swansea, MA) tied for 46th at 134 (88, 46).

 

In upcoming action, the Anchormen will compete at the Johnson & Wales Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19.
