CORSAIRS KEEP ANCHORWOMEN
WINLESS IN LITTLE EAST PLAY

Dartmouth, MA—Freshman
attacker Molly Voyer (Lincoln, RI) led Rhode Island College
with two goals, five draw controls and two ground balls, but the
Anchorwomen never recovered from an eight-goal first half deficit,
falling, 17-4, at UMass Dartmouth’s Cressy Field in Little East
Conference women’s lacrosse action on Tuesday night. |

UMass
Dartmouth scored 10 unanswered goals, and five within a span of 7:07
early in the first half, to erase a 2-0 RIC lead. The Corsairs
improved to 4-6 and 2-1 in the Little East Conference with the
victory, while the Anchorwomen fell to 1-10 and 0-4 with the defeat. |

|
Six different
players scored for the Corsairs in the first half. Sophomore
attacker Samantha Wonson (Lowell, MA) scored three goals for
UMD before the intermission, while junior midfielder Kara Basque
(Plainville, MA) and sophomore attacker Rachel Carlucci
(Franklin, MA) each scored twice. UMass Dartmouth scored the
first two goals of the second half before the Anchorwomen broke
through to make it 12-3. |

Wonson and
freshman midfielder Allison O’Rourke (Weymouth, MA) finished
with three goals for the Corsairs, while Carlucci, Basque, junior
attacker Gillian Carey (Waltham, MA) and junior midfielder
Allison Trearchis (Tyngsboro, MA) each scored twice. Carlucci
and Trearchis each had three assists. |

RIC sophomore
midfielder Emily Conte (North Providence, RI) added two
assists. |
|
|
|
|
|
UMass
Dartmouth out shot Rhode Island College, 29-15. UMD junior
goalkeeper Liz Miller (Littleton, MA) made six saves, while
sophomore Hilary Switzer (Woonsocket, RI) made 10 for the
Anchorwomen. |

In upcoming
action, Rhode Island College will play at Roger Williams on
Thursday, April 16. |
