LOPARDO TAKES FIRST AS MENíS TRACK
PLACES SIXTH AT SILFEN INVITATIONAL

New London, CT-Senior Dante Lopardo (Johnston, RI) placed first in the high jump as the Rhode Island College menís outdoor track and field team finished sixth (14 teams) with 39.0 points at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon. Coast Guard won the meet with a score of 291.50.

 

 

 Senior Dante Lopardo

 

Lopardo earned the top spot in the high jump with a 1.93-meter effort. He also placed eighth in the triple jump (12.54m), ninth in the long jump (6.10m), 11th in the javelin (43.25m) and 24th in the discus (21.73m).

 

 

 Junior Kyle Duguay

 

Junior Kyle Duguay (Cumberland, RI) placed third in the 100 meters (11.61) and seventh in the 200 meters (23.84).

 

Senior Hunter Stewart (Foster, RI) placed second in the 800 meters (1:58.63).

 

Sophomore Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI) placed third in the 10,000 meters (33:37.70), while freshman Kyle Mann (West Warwick, RI) placed third in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (10:47.33).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the New England Alliance Championships, hosted by Westfield State on Saturday, Apr. 25.
