ANCHORWOMEN CLOSE OUT FALL SEMESTER AT HARVARD INVITATIONAL

 

Cambridge, MAŚThe Rhode Island College women's indoor track and field team competed at the Harvard Invitational on Saturday afternoon. It was an individual meet with no team scoring as the Anchorwomen squared off against many Div. I and II opponents.

 

 

 

 Freshman Kim Mangum (Warwick, RI) established a new school-record in the triple jump, placing fifth with a 10.70-meter effort. She also placed 31st in the 60 meters with a time of 8.76.

 

 

 

 Sophomore Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) established a new school record in the preliminary round of the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 10.16. DiBlasi placed 13th in the finals with a time of 10.24.

 

 

 

Senior Kayla Fleming (Pawtucket, RI) placed third in the high jump with a 1.70-meter effort. 

 

 

 

 Seniors Stephanie Bucci (Smithfield, RI) and Mary Ellen Horsman (Barrington, RI) placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the weight throw championship with efforts of 12.15 and 12.10 meters. Bucci also placed fifth in the shot with a distance of 10.20 meters.

 

 

 

Freshman Alexzandra Hays (Chepachet, RI) placed fourth in the shot at 10.25 meters. 

 

 

Rhode Island College is off for finals and the holidays. Head Coach Kevin Jackson's team will resume action at the Coast Guard Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 16.
