STEWART & LOPARDO LEAD TO
SECOND PLACE FINISH
AT COAST GUARD INVITATIONAL

New London, CT-The Rhode Island College men's indoor track and field team placed second at the Coast Guard Invitational, totaling 86 points. The hosts were first (314), while Connecticut College (95) and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (61) rounded out the field.

 

 

 Senior Hunter Stewart

 

Senior Hunter Stewart (Foster, RI) placed first in the 600 meters with a time of 1:24.84.

 

Senior Dante Lopardo (Johnston, RI) placed first in the high jump (1.92 meters), while finishing fifth in both the long (6.07 meters) and triple jumps (11.91 meters),

 

Junior Kyle Duguay (Cumberland, RI) placed second in the 55 meters (6.88), second in the 200 meters (24.31) and third in the 400 meters (54.28).

 

Senior James Polak (Smithfield, RI) placed third in the weight throw (11.73 meters), while freshman Kyle Mann (West Warwick, RI) finished fourth in the mile (4:57.46).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 24.
