RYAN KELLEY & JOSH SILVA EARN
ALL-NEW ENGLAND HONORS

 

Providence, RI-Rhode Island College junior forward Ryan Kelley (Hope, RI) and senior defender Josh Silva (Dartmouth, MA) were named Third Team All-New England by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

 

Kelley, a First Team All-Little East Conference selection, played in 22 games, starting all of them. He totaled three goals and four assists for 10 points. Kelley scored the game-wining goal to give the Anchormen a 1-0 win over Plymouth State in the championship game of the Little East Conference Men’s Soccer Tournament on Nov. 8.

Silva, a First Team All-Little East Conference selection, played in 22 games, starting all of them, and recorded one assist for one point. He helped anchor a defense that recorded 10 shutouts and posted a 0.74 goals against average. Silva was named the Little East Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week once on the season.

Head Coach John Mello’s team finished the season with a 12-6-5 overall record and a 5-1-1 (second place) mark in the Little East. RIC captured its first LEC Tournament Championship and competed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
