RIC, which was playing its first game in 24 days, raises its record to 6-3, while the Seahawks fall to 3-7.

In the nip-and-tuck overtime session, neither team was able to build a lead of more than two points until the Anchormen snapped an 84-84 tie with 44 seconds left on a senior center Wil Lyons (Warwick, RI) layup. RIC scored the next four points on two free throws apiece by Stewart and sophomore guard Antone Gray (Providence, RI). The Seahawks trimmed the deficit to three with a trifecta, but Stewart sealed the victory with his seventh free throw of the night with one second remaining.

RIC trailed by as many as 17 points in the first half and by 15 with 7:43 left in regulation. The Anchormen went on a 28-13 run to close out the second stanza, as freshman forward Mason Choice (Newport, RI) forced the overtime session with a pair of free throws with four seconds left. The hosts had a chance to win the game at the buzzer, but a three-point attempt fell short.

Choice narrowly missed a double-double, scoring nine points and collecting a team-best eight caroms.

Salve Regina senior guard Justin Woodworth (Ipswich, MA) led all scorers with 31 points, knocking down nine of his 11 baskets from beyond the three-point arc. Freshman forward Michael Dylag (Southbury, CT) posted a balanced effort with a 13-point, 13-rebound, double-double performance. Sophomore guard Windell Hinkson (Groton, CT) logged 19 points, while senior backcourt mate Jabreche Boyd (West Haven, CT) rounded out the Seahawk contingent in double figures with 16 points.
