Rhode Island College, which came back from a 15-point second half deficit vs. Salve Regina on Tuesday evening to win in overtime, battled back from a 10 point disadvantage to tie the game, 60-60, on a Lyons free throw with 8:28 left. After a Trinity missed three-pointer, sophomore forward Darius Debnam (Mattapan, MA) made a layup at 6:47 to give the Anchormen their first lead, 62-60, since the 19:10 mark of the first half.

The teams traded the lead over the final minutes of regulation with Ford draining a trey to put the Bantams up by two, 71-69 with 1:11 left. Lyons tied the game with a jump shot 18 seconds later.

Trinity sophomore Ian Fels (Miami, FL) hit two free throws with 32 seconds on the clock, but once again, Lyons converted down low to knot the contest. Fels missed a fade away with seven seconds left and Hillís halfcourt three rolled off the rim to force the extra session.

Lyons was immense in the paint, shooting 10-for-17 from the field, en route to a 25-point, 13-rebound, double-double performance. In addition to Lyons, four other Anchormen scored in double figures as Hill, Stewart, senior guard Bobby Bailey (Fall River, MA) and freshman forward Mason Choice (Newport, RI) chipped in with 18, 14 and 10 points apiece, respectively. Sophomore guard Antone Gray (Providence, RI) dished out a game-high six assists.

Ford led all scorers with 28 points, which included four trifectas.  Fels scored 19, while MacDougall posted a team-high 10 boards.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will resume the Little East Conference circuit on Saturday, Jan. 10 when the Anchormen square off against Plymouth State.
