LESIEUR LEADS ANCHORWOMEN AT
SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT QUAD MEET

 

New Haven, CT—Freshman Casey Lesieur (Coventry, RI) led the Rhode Island College women’s gymnastics team on three events as the Anchorwomen lost three matches at a quad-meet, hosted by Southern Connecticut on Saturday afternoon.

 

 

 

RIC fell to the hosts, who won the meet, 169.250-185.950, while also falling to ECAC Div. III opponents Brockport (184.550) and MIT (175.00)

 

 

 

The Anchorwomen posted scores of 43.125 on vault, 39.200 on bars, 42.825 on beam and 44.100 on floor.

 

 

 

 

 

 Freshman Casey Lesieur

 

 

 

Lesieur led RIC on bars (13th, 8.450), beam (13th, 8.950), floor (10th tie, 9.300) and in the all-around (6th, 35.225). Her beam and floor marks were new season-highs.

 

 

 

 

 

 Sophomore Julie Pitkin

 

 

 

Sophomore Julie Pitkin (Lee, NH) led the Anchorwomen on vault (12th tie, 8.950) and was seventh in the all-around (34.075).

 

 

RIC sees its overall record drop to 0-8 and 0-4 against ECAC Div. III opposition.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Wilson on Saturday, Feb. 14. RIC seniors Nicole Tomaselli (Cranston, RI) and Megan Tkach (Holmdel, NJ) will be honored prior to the meet as part of Senior Day 2009.
