RIC WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL SPLITS

AT RIVIER TRI-MATCH

 

Nashua, NH—Rhode Island College raised its record to 9-8 on the season with a split at a tri-meet, hosted by Rivier on Saturday afternoon. The Anchorwomen dropped their first match, 3-0 (20-25, 18-25, 8-25) to the hosts, but rebounded to shut out Salem State, 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-13) before heading home.

 

 

 

With the win over the Vikings, Rhode Island College has surpassed its win total (8-23) from a year ago.

In the loss vs. the Raiders (6-8), freshman outside hitter Breanna Boyer (West Greenwich, RI) had four kills and five digs, while junior outside hitter Tess Heidel (Warwick, RI) posted four winners and three blocks. Freshman setter Jessica Ho (Providence, RI) handed out 10 assists, while junior opposite April Oberhelman (Woonsocket, RI) led the visitors with six digs.

In the win over the Vikings (4-11), Oberhelman and Boyer each logged five winners, while freshman middle blocker Kalyn Archer (Warwick, RI) was one off the pace. Boyer recorded a team-high eight digs, while freshman setter Rachael Chapman (Bellingham, MA) was credited with 10 assists.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play at Emmanuel on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
