FIVE RIC HARRIERS PLACE IN TOP 50
AS RIC TAKES SEVENTH AT
JAMES EARLEY INVITATIONAL

Westfield, MAóRhode Island College had five runners place in the top 50 as its menís cross country team placed seventh (23 teams) with a score of 154 at the 14th annual James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State on Saturday afternoon. UMass Dartmouth won the race with a score of 72.

 

 

 Junior Mike Macedo

 

Junior Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI) was RICís top runner for the second time in three meets this fall, placing 20th overall (253 runners) with a time of 27:13.59. His brother, freshman Matt Macedo (North Scituate, RI), placed 30th with a time of 27:29.38.

 

Freshman Conor McCloskey (Wakefield, RI) placed 34th with a time of 27:44.64. Sophomore Kyle Mann (West Warwick, RI) placed 37th with a time of 27:53.37. Freshman Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI) rounded out the RIC contingent in the top-50, placing 43rd with a time of 28:03.89.

 

Freshman Dionis Camacho (Providence, RI) placed 59th with a time of 28:45.16. Freshman Austin Pena (West Warwick, RI) placed 62nd with a time of 28:50.44. Freshman Conor Breagy (Exeter, RI) placed 132nd with a time of 31:08.00.

 

Freshman Richard McPhillips (Central Falls, RI) placed 152nd with a time of 31:41.10. Freshman Kurt Decker (Bristol, RI) placed 173rd with a time of 32:11.00. Junior Chris Allegretta (Warwick, RI) placed 179th with a time of 32:21.00.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at Eastern Connecticut on Saturday, Oct. 17.
