MACEDO LEADS RIC TO, 25-30, WIN AT EASTERN CONNECTICUT

Mansfield, CT—Junior Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI) was the Rhode Island College men’s cross country team’s fastest runner, placing second with a time of 26:35, to lead the Anchormen to a 25-30 win over host Eastern Connecticut at a dual race held at Mansfield Hollow State Park.

Macedo has been RIC’s top performer in four of the Anchormen’s five competitions this fall. There were a total of 19 runners in the race.

 

Freshman Conor McCloskey (Wakefield, RI) was right behind the team captain, placing third with a time of 27:05. Freshman Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI) placed fifth with a time of 27:22. Sophomore Kyle Mann (West Warwick, RI) placed seventh with a time of 27:27. Freshman Austin Pena (West Warwick, RI) rounded out the RIC runners in the top 10, placing eighth with a time of 28:01.

 

Sophomore Ethan Leary (Newport, RI) placed 13th with a time of 29:06. Junior Chris Allegretta (Warwick, RI) placed 17th with a time of 31:07. Freshman Richard McPhillips (Central Falls, RI) placed 18th with a time of 31:15.
