BREANNA BOYER NAMED LITTLE EAST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College freshman outside hitter Breanna Boyer (West Greenwich, RI) was named the Little East Conference women’s volleyball Rookie of the Week for her performance in five matches.

 

 

 

Boyer played in 20 games in five matches in a 3-2 week for the Anchorwomen, posting 73 kills (3.7/g), a .346 hitting percentage, 66 digs, eight blocks and three aces. She reached double digits in kills in four of her five matches, including a season-best 21 in a 3-2 loss to Wheaton on Oct. 17.

 

For the season, she has played in 100 games in 29 matches. Boyer has compiled 298 kills (2.9/g), a .235 hitting percentage and 249 digs (2.5/g). She leads the Anchorwomen in kills, while ranking second in both hitting percentage and digs.

 

Head Coach Luis Carvalho’s team is 16-13 overall and 2-1 in the Little East Conference.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play at Wesleyan this evening.
