PICINISCO LEADS MEN'S GOLF
TO 19th PLACE FINISH AT NEIGA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Brewster, MAŚJunior Bryan Picinisco (Dartmouth, MA) tied for 45th overall (194 golfers) to lead the Rhode Island College men's golf team to a 19th place finish (39 teams) at the 75th Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship on Oct. 19-20 at the Captains Country Club. It is the program's highest ever finish at the championships.

The Anchormen shot a team score of 322 during day one of competition, while lowering their score by four strokes (318) on day two. Rhode Island College finished seventh among NCAA Div. III institutions.

 

Picinisco posted the team's top score with a total of 156 (77, 79). Junior Derek Jensen (Cumberland, RI) tied for 64th with a score of 158 (80, 78).

 

Junior Chad Lareau (North Attleboro, MA) tied for 106th at 164 (85, 79). Senior Barrett Kern (Pawtucket, RI) tied for 118th at 166 (80, 86), while freshman Kyle Harper (Rehoboth, MA) tied for 124th at 167 (85, 82).

 

 In upcoming action, the Anchorwomen will compete at the GNAC/Little East Conference Alliance Championships on Oct. 24-25 at Allendale Country Club in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts. The winning team receives an automatic berth in the 2010 NCAA Div. III Men's Golf Championships, which take part in the spring.
