COSTA NAMED LITTLE EAST

Providence, RI—Rhode Island College sophomore forward Bruno Costa (Pawtucket, RI) was named the Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in a 2-0 week for the Anchormen.

Costa led RIC to a 4-2 win over Westfield State on Oct. 20 with a hat trick. He followed that performance with a two-goal, one-assist effort, which included the game-winning marker, as RIC improved to 4-2 in Little East Conference play with a 5-3 victory over Southern Maine on Oct. 24. For the season, he has played in 16 games, starting nine of them. Costa has 11 goals and two assists for 24 points.

Head Coach John Mello’s team is 7-7-2 overall and 5-2 (third place) in the Little East. In upcoming action, the Anchormen will play at Johnson & Wales on Thursday, Oct. 29.
