DESROSIERS LEADS RIC TO SIXTH PLACE FINISH AT ALLIANCE CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Keene, NH—Junior Katie Desrosiers (Warwick, RI) earned N.E. All-Alliance honors, placing 18th (126 runners), to lead the Rhode Island College women’s cross country team to a sixth place (13 teams) finish at the 2009 New England Alliance Championships on Saturday afternoon at Keene State.

The Anchorwomen totaled a scored of 183 in the Alliance (Little East & MASCAC), while placing fourth (six teams) with a score of 105 among Little East Conference institutions. The hosts won both the Alliance and LEC Championships with scores of 25 and 20, respectively.

 

Desrosiers posted a time of 20:52. Sophomore Brittany Richer (Woonsocket, RI) placed 21st with a time of 20:57.

 

Junior Jamie Nunes (Lincoln, RI) placed 44th with a time of 22:03. Junior captain Nicole Poirier (Concord, NH) placed 53rd with a time of 22:28. Junior Heather Feeney (Warwick, RI) placed 59th with a time 22:41.

 

Junior Lindsey Brisson (Coventry, RI) placed 60th with a time of 22:42. Freshman Bianca Jones-Pearson (Barrington, RI) placed 74th with a time of 23:23. Sophomore Justyna Barlow (Foster, RI) placed 88th with a time of 23:47.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the ECAC Div. III Championships, hosted by Williams on Saturday, Nov. 7.
