RIC MENíS GOLF PLACES FOURTH AT ANCHORMAN INVITATIONAL

 

Providence, R.I.-Freshman Kyle Harper (Rehoboth, MA) placed sixth (30 golfers) as the Rhode Island College menís golf team opened the 2010 spring campaign by hosting the Anchorman Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 2-3 at Triggs Memorial Golf Course.

RIC totaled a score of 659 (335, 324) over the two-day tourney. The Anchormenís 324 score on day two was the second-best mark among the six-team field for that afternoon.

 

 

 

Providence College won the invitational with a score of 646 (325, 321). The Friars were followed by: 2. Babson, 650 (316, 334); 3. UMass Dartmouth, 653 (325, 328); 4. RIC; 5. Wentworth, 691 (331, 360) and 6. Suffolk, 735 (371, 364).

 

 

 

Harper totaled a score of 160 (83, 77) and was +16. Freshman Kyle Garcia (Rehoboth, MA) tied for seventh, shot a 161 (82, 79) and was +17. Junior Bryan Picinisco (Dartmouth, MA) tied for 11th, shot a 165 (82, 83) and was +21.

 

 

 

Freshman George Bissell (Chepachet, RI) tied for 19th, shot a 176 (91, 85) and was +32. Freshman Justin Coffey (Hopedale, MA) was 21st, shot a 180 (88, 92) and was +36.

 

 

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, April 10-11.
