SUFFOLK DEFEATS RIC, 8-1, TO STAY UNBEATEN

 

Cambridge, MA-The Suffolk University men's tennis team took five out of six singles and all three doubles matches en route to an 8-1 victory over Rhode Island College on Tuesday night. The Rams improve to 4-0 on the season while RIC falls to 1-4.

 

 

 

Junior captain Nate Rebello (Pawtucket, RI) picked up the lone win (6-4, 6-7, 10-5) for RIC at No. 2 singles, defeating Rams freshman Chris Staley (London, England).

Suffolk juniors Diego Alvarado (Boston, MA) and Jared Orkin (Newton, MA) picked up wins at No. 1 and 3 singles, respectively, while freshman Harlan Strader and sophomores Justin Ayoub (Brooklyn, NY) and John Samander (Curacao) picked up the rest of the singles victories.

 

 

 

 Alvarado, Strader, Samander and Staley also helped the Rams capture three wins in doubles action.

 

 

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will play at Curry on Thursday, April 8.
