ANCHORMEN COME UP SHORT IN
FIRST LITTLE EAST MATCH

 

Salem, MA-Junior captain Nate Rebello (Pawtucket, RI) and freshman Nate Lee (Bar Harbor, ME) won at No. 2 and No. 6 singles, but the Anchormen fell short, 5-4, in the Little East Conference menís tennis opener for both clubs.

Rebello (6-2, 6-1) and Lee (6-2, 6-1) each picked up straight set victories in their respective matches. Rebello paired with junior Mike Aiello (Scituate, RI) for an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles, while Lee teamed with senior Garrett Smith (Exeter, RI) to defeat their opponents, 8-4, at No. 3 doubles.

The Anchormen see their record drop to 2-5 overall and 0-1 in the LEC, while the Vikings raise their mark to 2-5 overall and 1-0 in league action.

 

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East Conference play with home match vs. Western Connecticut at 3:30 p.m.
