REBELLO WINS IN BOTH SINGLES & DOUBLES
AS RIC DROPS MATCH, 7-2, TO PRIDE

 

Providence, RI-Junior captain Nate Rebello (Pawtucket, RI) won a straight set decision (6-0, 6-1) at No. 2 singles and paired with junior Mike Aiello (Scituate, RI) for a win (8-3) at No. 2 doubles, but Springfield College won the rest of the matches in a 7-2 win over Rhode Island College at the RIC Tennis Courts on Wednesday afternoon.

RIC drops to 2-7, while Springfield improves to 4-10.

 

 

 

Senior Tim Tunis (Sudbury, MA) won a straight set (6-2, 6-1) decision at No. 1 singles to highlight the Pride’s win. Juniors John Shrank (Lindenhurst, NY) and Mike McGee (Pawtucket, RI) also earned straight set victories at No. 4 and 6 singles, respectively, and combined for a win (8-4) at No. 3 doubles.

 

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will host Newbury tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.
