ANCHORMEN PLACE EIGHTH
AT SILFEN INVITATIONAL

New London, Conn.-The Rhode Island College men's outdoor track and field team placed eighth (11 teams) at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon. The Anchormen totaled a score of 44.0, while Coast Guard won the meet with a team point total of 153.0.

 

Junior Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI) placed first in the 10,000m (33:10.61). Freshman George N'Tow (Providence, RI) placed third in the 400m (50.95). Freshman Steve Roberts (New Haven, CT) placed third in the high jump (1.81m) and seventh in the 400m (52.42).

Freshman Shawn Stadnick (Wakefield, RI) placed fifth in the 800m (1:59.44), while sophomore Kyle Mann (West Warwick, RI) placed fourth in the 3,000m steeplechase (10:23.80).

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Little East/Alliance Championships, hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Saturday, April 24.
