GARCIA PLACES SECOND AS RIC MENíS GOLF WINS RIC SPRING INVITATIONAL

 

Providence, RI-Freshman Kyle Garcia (Rehoboth, MA) placed second as the Rhode Island College menís golf team placed first (four teams) at the RIC Spring Invitational played at Triggs Memorial Golf Course.

 

 

 

RIC totaled a score of 326, which was +38. Elms (332, +44) was six strokes off the pace, while Tufts (338, + 50) and Worcester State (350, +62) finished third and fourth, respectively.

Worcester State junior Bob Bruso (Auburn, MA) was the medalist, firing a score of 76 (+4). Garcia was two strokes off the lead (78, +6).

 

 

 

Elms freshman Philip Rurak (Wilbraham, MA) and Tufts junior Luke Heffernan (Arlington, MA) tied for fourth (80, +8).

 

 

 

RIC junior Bryan Picinisco (Dartmouth, MA) and senior Barrett Kern (Pawtucket, RI) tied for fifth (82, +10). Freshman Kyle Harper (Rehoboth, MA) tied for 10th (84, +12), while freshman Justin Coffey (Hopedale, MA) placed 12th (85, +13) to round out the RIC contingent.

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will close out the 2009-10 season at the Wentworth Invitational on Monday, April 26.
