GASPARYAN LEADS MENíS TENNIS
TO THIRD STRAIGHT WIN

 

Providence, RI-Freshman Tigran Gasparyan (Smithfield, RI) earned a straight set win (6-1, 7-6) at No. 1 singles and paired with junior Matt Allard (Harrisville, RI) for an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles, as the Rhode Island College menís tennis team defeated UMass Boston, 9-0, in Little East Conference action.

 

 

 

RIC (5-7, 2-2) wins for the third straight match and evens its Little East mark at .500. The Beacons (1-10, 0-3) are still searching for their first conference win.

The Anchormen did not lose a set all day, with Gasparyanís 7-6 (7-4) win in set number two being the closest set played.

 

 

 

Junior Nate Rebello (Pawtucket, RI) won (6-1, 6-0) at No. 2 singles and paired with junior Mike Aiello (Scituate, RI) for an 8-2 win at the second doubles spot. Both Aiello at No. 3 and Allard at No. 5 won their singles matches.

 

 

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will continue Little East Conference play when it hosts UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday, April 27.
