MACEDO & NíTOW LEAD
RIC MENíS TRACK AT
ALLIANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS

North Dartmouth, Mass.-The Rhode Island College menís track & field team placed ninth (11 teams) overall and fifth (six teams) in the Little East at the New England Alliance Championships, hosted by UMass Dartmouth.

 

RIC totaled 19 points overall and 33 in league competition.

 

 

 Junior Mike Macedo

 

Junior Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI) earned N.E. Alliance honors in the 10,000m, placing fourth (33:39.48).

 

 

 Freshman George N'Tow

 

Freshman George NíTow (Providence, RI) earned N.E. Alliance honors in the 400m, placing second (49.43). He also garnered All-Little East honors with a fourth place (LEC) finish in the 200m (23.29).

 

The 4x400m relay team comprised of NíTow and freshmen Steve Roberts (New Haven, CT), freshman Austin Pena (West Warwick, RI) and Matt Macedo (North Scituate, RI) captured All-Little East honors with a second place finish (3:28.58).

 

In upcoming action, select members of the team will compete at the N.E. Div. III Championships, hosted by Tufts on Saturday, May 1.
