REBELLO & AIELLO HELP MEN'S TENNIS TO FOURTH STRAIGHT WIN

Providence, R.I.-Juniors Nate Rebello (Pawtucket, RI) and Mike Aiello (Scituate, RI) each won straight decisions at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively, and combined to win at second doubles as the Rhode Island College men's tennis team defeated UMass Dartmouth, 6-3, at the RIC Tennis Courts.

 

RIC (6-7, 3-2 LEC) wins for the fourth straight time and earns its third consecutive Little East win. The Corsairs (4-5, 0-5 LEC) fall for the fourth straight match.

The Anchormen trailed, 2-1, after doubles, but rebounded to win five of the six singles matches. Rebello  defeated (6-3, 6-1) UMass Dartmouth freshman Mike Parker (Scituate, MA), while Aiello downed (6-4, 6-0) freshman Mike Giaquinto (East Falmouth, MA).

 

 

Senior Garrett Smith was recognized
as part of Senior Day prior to the start of the match.

 

Senior Garrett Smith (Exeter, RI), junior Matt Allard (Harrisville, RI) and freshman Nate Lee (Bar Harbor, ME) all won straight singles matches for the hosts as well.

 

UMD senior Ken Sims (Chelmsford, MA) won at both the top singles and doubles spot.

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will close out the regular season at Little East foe Bridgewater State tomorrow afternoon.
