LEVESQUE NAMED LITTLE EAST
PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Providence, RI-Rhode Island College junior Gary Levesque (East Providence, RI) was named the Little East Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance in two appearances. It is the third time this season he's received this accolade.

Levesque was dominant on the mound this past week, posting a 1-0 record with a save for the Anchormen. He did not allow an earned run on just four hits, while striking out 13 in 10.1 innings of work. Levesque struck out a season-high 12 during his masterful complete game, two-hit shutout, 8-0, victory against Little East rival Western Connecticut on Saturday. Earlier in the week, he worked a scoreless 1.1 IP to pick up a save against Framingham State.

For the season, he has appeared in six games, starting five of them. Levesque is 3-1 with a save, a 1.49 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 42.1 innings of work. As a designated hitter, he is batting .395 (47-for-119) with 29 runs scored, 15 doubles, seven homers and 35 RBI.

Head Coach Scott Virgulak’s team is 20-14 overall and 7-5 in the Little East. In upcoming action, RIC will host Mitchell on Tuesday, May 4.
