THREE FROM RIC COMPETE AT N.E. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Dedham, Mass.-The Rhode Island College menís and womenís track & field team had three competitors see action at the NEICAAA Open Championships, hosted by Northeastern University. Neither team scored at the meet, which saw Boston College win the womenís title and the University of Rhode Island capture the menís crown.

 

The majority of competitors at the meet were from Div. I and II insitutions.

 

 

 Freshman George N'Tow

 

Freshman George NíTow (Providence, RI) placed 26th in the 400m (51.36) for the menís team.

 

 

 Senior Brooke Iby

 

For the women, senior Brooke Iby (Dracut, MA) placed 10th in the triple jump (10.80m), while junior Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) placed 21st in the 100m hurdles (16.12) and 23rd in the 400m hurdles (1:08.45).

In upcoming action, select members of the team will compete at the ECAC Championships, hosted by Springfield on Thursday and Friday, May 13-14.
