NíTOW NAMED LITTLE EAST
MENíS TRACK ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

Providence, RIóRhode Island College freshman George NíTow (Providence, RI) was named the Little East Conference Menís Outdoor Track Rookie of the Year.

 

 

 

NíTow was also named the team MVP. He placed 12th in the 400m (49.87) at the ECAC Championships on May 14. He placed 26th in the 400m (51.36) at the N.E. Open Championships on May 8. He earned All-New England honors in the 400m, placing third with a season-best time of 49.17 at the N.E. Div. III Championships on May 1. NíTow earned N.E. Alliance honors in the 400m (49.43) and All-Little East honors as a part of the 4x400m relay that finished second (3:28.58) at the Alliance Championships on April 24. He also finished ninth in the 200m with a season-best time of 23.29. NíTow placed third in the 400m (50.95) at the Silfen Invitational on April 17. He placed sixth in the 800m with a season-best time of 2:04.66 at the Swanson Invitational on April 10. NíTow placed first in the 400m (49.66) at the Coast Guard Invitational on April 3. He was named the Little East Conference Track Rookie of the Week once.

 

During the indoor campaign, he placed ninth as part of the 4x400m relay (3:26.83) at the ECAC Championships on March 6. NíTow placed 17th as part of the 4x400m relay with a new program record and season-best time of 3:24.06 at the N.E. Open Championships on Feb. 27. He earned All-New England honors by placing eighth as a part of the 4x400m relay (3:30.31) at the N.E. Div. III Championships on Feb. 20. NíTow also placed ninth in the 400m (51.70). He earned N.E. Alliance honors by placing third in the 400m (51.34) at the N.E. Alliance Championships on Feb. 13. He also placed fourth in the 4x400m relay (3:31.58). NíTow finished 48th in the 400m with a season-best time of 50.80 and also finished 15th in the 4x400m relay (3:26.76) at the Boston University Invitational on Jan. 29. NíTow placed ninth in the 400m (52.33) and helped establish a new RIC record as part of the 4x200m relay (1:36.01) with a third place finish at the Wheaton Invitational on Jan. 23. He placed second in the 400m (53.51) and second as a part of the 4x400m relay (3:42.71) at the Coast Guard Invitational on Jan. 16. At the Yale Classic on Jan. 9, NíTow placed 21st as a part of the 4x400m relay (3:48.35). NíTow placed 17th in the preliminaries of the 60m with a season-best time of 7.30 and helped establish a new RIC record as part of the 4x440-yd relay (3:32.50) with a seventh place mark at the Harvard Open on Dec. 12. He placed 10th in the preliminaries of the 55m with a season-best time of 6.83, 19th in the 400m (1:00.72), fourth as a part of the 4x200m (1:39.05) and fourth as a part of the 4x400m relay (3:36.06) at the Springfield Invitational on Dec. 5. He was named the teamís MVP.
