Providence, RI—Rhode Island College has named Jackie Ventre as its assistant women’s gymnastics coach. She will assist Head Coach Tristan Poirier with all phases of the RIC gymnastics program including recruiting, administering practice and competition coaching.

Ventre is looking forward to her first collegiate coaching job. “I am excited to be on the other side of the sport,” said the former gymnast. “It was fun as an athlete and I hope it is even more fun as a coach.”

Ventre was USAG state and regionally-ranked, as well as, a USAIGC national qualifier. She also received a full athletic scholarship to the University of Rhode Island in the fall of 2005.

She has also worked as a coach at Worldwide Gymnastics from 2003-05, where she taught children between the ages of 4-17, in both strict and relaxed atmospheres. She specialized on beam, floor training and choreographing routines.

Most recently, Ventre had worked as a marketing and promotions intern at URI. She was responsible for such events as National Girls and Women in Sports Day, the Pack the House competition and the Pink Out basketball game.
