RIC WOMEN'S TRACK ESTABLISHES FIVE NEW RECORDS AT HARVARD INVITATIONAL

 

Cambridge, MAŚSophomore Kim Mangum (Warwick, RI) established new program records in both the long and triple jumps as the Rhode Island College women's indoor track and field team saw action at the Harvard Invitational on Saturday afternoon. It was an individual meet with no team scoring.

Mangum placed third (11.12m) in the triple jump and fifth (5.29) in the long jump. She also teamed with sophomore Katie Desrosiers (Warwick, RI), senior Brooke Iby (Dracut, MA) and junior Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) to establish a new program record in the 4x440-yard relay, placing 8th with a time of 4:24.01.

 

 

 

Iby set a record of her own in the 60m (8.61), while also placing ninth in the triple jump (10.52m).

 

 

 DiBlasi broke the program record in the 60m hurdles (10.28) with a 21st place finish in the prelminaries. Sophomore Brittany Richer (Woonsocket, RI) and junior Nicole Poirier (Concord, NH) finished 18th (11:37.33) and 23rd (12:15.93), respectively, in the 3,000m.

 

Rhode Island College is off for finals and Christmas. The Anchorwomen will resume action on Saturday, Jan. 9 at the Yale Invitational.
