CAREY, PENA & MACEDO PLACE FIRST AS RIC MEN'S TRACK FINISHES SECOND
AT COAST GUARD INVITATIONAL

 

New London, CTThree Anchormen won their event as the Rhode Island College men's indoor track & field team finished second (four teams) with a score of 113.0 at the Coast Guard Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The hosts won the meet with a score of 292.50.

 

 

 

 

 

Freshman Kevin Carey

 

 

 

Freshman Kevin Carey (Wakefield, RI) placed first in the 600m (1:26.62) and third in the high jump (1.76m).

 

 

 

 

 

Freshman Austin Pena

 

 

 

Freshman Austin Pena (West Warwick, RI) placed first in the 800m (2:05.28).

 

 

 

 

 

Junior Mike Macedo

 

 

 

Junior Mike Macedo (North Scituate, RI) placed first in the 3,000m (9:39.20). Sophomore Kyle Mann (West Warwick, RI) finished second in the same event (9:50.50).

 

 

 

Senior Kyle Duguay (Cumberland, RI) placed second in the 200m (24.26) and fourth in the 55m (6.96).  

 

 

 

 Freshman Sean Ceccofiglio (Woonsocket, RI) placed second in the 55m hurdles (8.69) and fourth in the 200m (24.66), while freshman George N'Tow (Providence, RI) finished second in the 400m (53.51).

 

 

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Wheaton Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 23.
