IBY HELPS LEAD WOMEN'S TRACK TO
SECOND PLACE FINISH AT COAST GUARD INVITATIONAL

 

New London, CTSenior Brooke Iby (Dracut, MA) placed first in four events to help lead the Rhode Island College women's indoor track & field team to a second place (four teams) finish with a score of 160.0 at the Coast Guard Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Connecticut College won the meet with a score of 224.0.

Senior Brooke Iby (Dracut, MA) placed first in the 55m (7.91), 200m (28.97), triple jump (10.62m) and as part of the 4x200m relay (1:55.80). She also placed second in the 400m (1:03.78).

 

 

 

 

 

Junior Kayla DiBlasi

 

 

 

Junior Kayla DiBlasi (Smithfield, RI) placed first in the 55m hurdles (9.35) and as part of the 4x200m relay (1:55.80), second in the 200m (29.07) and third in the 600m (1:51.93).

 

 

 

 

 

Senior Stephanie Bucci

 

 

 

Senior Stephanie Bucci (Smithfield, RI) placed first in the shot (10.28m). Sophomore Molly Gouveia (Warwick, RI) placed first in the weight throw (12.61m) and second in the shot (9.47m).

 

 

 

Sophomore Brittany Richer (Woonsocket, RI) placed first in the 3,000m (11:56.99) and fifth in the 1,000m (3:42.41). Junior Katie Desrosiers (Warwick, RI) placed second in the 1,000m (3:29.54).

 

 

 

Sophomore Nicole Gelinas (Dayville, CT) and junior Jamie Nunes (Lincoln, RI) placed first as part of the 4x200m relay (1:55.8). Gelinas also took second in the 55m (8.17) and third in the pole vault (2.14m).

 

 

 

In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete at the Wheaton Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 23.
