Ithaca, NY—Sophomore Jessica Greenwald (Union, NJ) placed third in the all-around with a score of 33.500 as the Rhode Island College women’s gymnastics team lost, 181.650-163.850, at Ithaca on Saturday afternoon.

The Anchorwomen drop to 0-3 on the season, while the Bombers even their record at 1-1.




Greenwald led RIC on bars (8.150) and tied with sophomore Kate Bachelder (Portsmouth, NH) for the team-high on floor (8.750). Sophomore Courtney Winsor (West Greenwich, RI) paced the Anchorwomen on vault (8.950), while senior Liz Glunt (Altoona, PA) led on beam (8.450).



Glunt (33.475) and Bachelder (33.075) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the all-around.


Senior captain Rachel Taylor (Escondido, CA) turned in one of Ithaca's best performances of the meet with a first-place finish on the bars and a score of 9.325. Taylor's routine drew the day's biggest ovation from teammates and spectators. It was a career-best score for Taylor on the bars and her first individual event title in any event.


Sophomore Kimberly Callahan (Rockland, MA) finished first on beam with a score of 9.150. It was Callahan's career-best score and her first event win. Ithaca swept the top six places on both the bars and beam events.


Sophomore Jessica Bolduc (Darien, CT) placed first on vault, floor and in the all-around competition. Bolduc posted season-best scores of 9.450 to win vault 9.450 to win floor and 37.225 to win all-around. Sophomore Kay Gordon (Breckenridge, CO) also competed in all-around, placing second with a total of 36.250. Gordon placed in the top six within each of the four events.


In upcoming action, Rhode Island College will compete on Sunday, Jan. 31 at a tri-meet hosted by Brown.
